new project started

autumn is calling and therefore i thought it would be a good idea to get the party started again in the shaping bay. i explored a few new templates and fell in love with this nug shape. as usual it's meant to be an addition to your shortboard quiver but also suitable for the river. not sure about the length yet but definitely below 6ft. keep you posted on the progress.

summer break & sale

although people keep saying that this summer can't be considered as one of the best, we enjoyed some sunny weekends in the mountains. therefore, not much action was going on in the shaping bay. since i plan to change that in the coming weeks i'd like to offer some boards for sale.

1. 6'1'' x 20 1/2'' x 2 3/4'' (fcs thruster, 1x6oz/2x6oz glassing)

my winter project 2015/2016 with a resin tinted tail. its meant to combine your shortboard quiver. not as easy to paddle in like the boards below but still plenty of volume to enable landlocked surfers a quick take-off. the round tail makes it a simple mission to turn. never surfed yet, chf 300.- (excl. fins)

2. 5'10'' x 21 1/4'' x 2 5/8'' (fcs thruster, 1x6oz/2x6oz glassing)

this board was made for the portugese week in may. i surfed it from chest to shoulder high waves and had so much fun. it paddles really easy, goes fast in flat sections and makes it an ideal combination for travels with a shortboard. also suitable for people progressing from a mini-mal towards a shorter board selection. in very good condition, only for chf 275.- (excl. fins).

3. 5'9'' x 22 1/16'' x 2 5/8'' (fcs thruster, 1x6oz/2x6oz glassing)

an older model shaped back in 2013. it was surfed a few weeks in france and portugal. similar to the yellow tinted resin board above but comes with more volume and slightly wider. goes well in all type of waves up to shoulder high. duckdiving can be a bit tricky unless you're a heavier surfer (90kg) like me :-) few dings, professionally repared. asking price chf 240.- (excl. fins).

bali back in 1974

everyone who traveled to bali the past years realised who much construction sites were progressing. i was always negatively impressed by the way this beautiful island manages their development just to please the needs of modern tourism. think about the various 5 star hotels right at the beach who didn't think about a second how to fit in the existing nature & culture. indonesia started to limit the investments and look after a more sustainable strategy. however, if you watch the footage back from 1974 it's a tradegy to see that it only took 30-40 years to destroy the paradise.

portugal 2016

what a week! the portugese sea treated us every day with good waves, great food & some cold beverages named after a town in the south of the country. i surfed most of the sessions with my yellow board and had a blast. to be continued next year.

river surf season 2016 kicked off

a great way to start into the new week.

since there was a local holiday in zurich (www.sechselaeuten.ch) i had the day off at work. weather has been rainy and the forecast looked promising for the river wave. so i packed my board and gave it a try. the water discharge at the lower end and cold water temperature (10 degrees celsius) kept the crowds away. i enjoyed a private session :)

down under

let me tell you: we had a blast! traveling through nsw and queensland was a fantastic experience for the whole family. although the waves could have been a bit bigger some days the ocean always treated me with some swell. i've also seen a few pretty nice boards which inspired me for future shapes.

australia!

in 2 weeks we'll be off to australlia and spend almost the whole march down under. quiver selection has been pretty easy as we have to pack light. i think the 6'6 fatum will be a solid choice for the trip along nsw coast. keep u posted with some pictures.
