red stripe

i was glasing the 'red stripe' (5'10'' x 22'' x 2 7/8) this week. today i found a jamaican beer in the supermarket which fits perfect to the destiny of this stick: a summer board!


final gloss coat, sanding & polishing will be done the next weeks.

the first three boards...

... are finished but far away from a perfect stick. both, shape and design, will be improved for the next boards.

beside all the xmas dinners & parties i worked on new board and gave it a little colored touch. ready for sanding & gloss coat.

almost finished

After bottom and top coat process has been finished the board looks almost ready for salty water. on the weekend i will work on the fin plug installation, final sanding & polishing.

i finished the lamination process of my first board. the bottom lamination was not a big issue. but i screwed up with the top. it ended with many air bubbles and massive rework. anyway, i was told by someone that the bottom is much more important and the top will be covered with wax anyway :-) the board is now presanded and ready for hotcoating and final sanding. to be continued.

in the meantime i prepared the fibreglass for the second board (5'8'' x 22'' x 3''). lets hope the expierence out of the first lamination will create a better result.
