as the second week of our vacation was a flat spell we collected some driftwood on the beaches of biscarosse. with the help of sanding paper and oil the driftwood turned into decorative items.
marco from zurich recently picked up the diamond tail and it seems like he enjoyed a late summer day in bremgarten with the landlocked stick under his feet :-)
thanks for the photos and keep on riding!
what a week!!
we enjoyed the first september week with the sgc family in hendaye. same procedure as last year. the house just in front of the sea was fantastic, so were the laughs, tapas, cidre, wine, birthdays, kids (already three of them) and beers... the swell was great in the beginning of the week and constantly dropped every day. i was able to catch the last surfable waves in biscarosse on sunday morning (2ft, glassy, only 4 surfers out). but the warm weather and blue sky were a reasonable compensation for the rest of the vacation :-)

still two weeks to go but i already packed the quiver for france. beside my 6'6'' fatum shortboard i'll also bring the ant II 5'9'' model and of course the 4'0'' stick of my daughter.
my latest project i recently started is to build a 5'6'' fish board with a fairly wide outline. i preshaped the blank and will work on the final shape the next weeks. a flat bottom and slight vee shape towards the tail shall create an ideal small wave board allowing to make speed in flater sections.
the glassing process for this stick will be a challenge, especially around the tail area. but now improvement without experiments :-)
stay tuned for an update!
one week ago i went to bremgarten and enjoyed a sunny morning session. 340m3/sec created a nice wave. i will try to go there again during the next weeks to bring myself back in shape for the sgc reunion in hendaye.
